More condolences pour in for Temjen Toy

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): Following the demise of Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy on January 28, various organizations across the State continued to mourn the bureaucrat’s demise on January 30.

 NSF: “Temjen Toy was a fine gentleman and a dedicated government servant who had served the state in various capacities and brought about several administrative reforms. In his demise the state and the Naga people in general have lost one of the most efficient bureaucrats of our time,” the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) stated in a condolence message.

Joining the rest of the state in paying homage to the departed soul, the NSF conveyed condolences to his bereaved family members, friends and loved ones.

ANCSU: The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) meanwhile stated that the bureaucrat had always paid sincere ears to the grievances and wellbeing of the student community whenever approached. “The ANCSU in particular had meaningful interactions with him on many occasions and had the privilege to learn from his in-depth knowledge and wisdom,” it added. The union extended heartfelt condolences to the family members and near and dear ones.

NLSF: Describing him as an able administrator whose contribution to the people would be remembered forever, the Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) stated that his passing away is a great loss for the law students of the state and an irreparable loss to the people. The void caused by his death would be difficult to fill, it said while conveying condolences to the members of the bereaved family. 

YAN: The Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) acknowledged his ‘remarkable’ contribution as Chief Secretary to streamline the administration of the State and stated that his early demise is not only a huge loss for Ao community but also for the Nagas as a whole. The void created by his demise, it said, would be very difficult to fill.

MHD: The Mao Hoho Dimapur stated that Nagaland has lost a “towering personality and a very efficient administrator,” whose contribution will ever be remembered. MHD prays that his soul rest in eternal peace, it said while conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and near and dear ones.

NVCO: The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers' Organisation (NVCO) paid respect to the departed soul and stated that his ‘magnificent contribution’ to the people of Nagaland would remain cheerful in the minds of young and old. Describing him as a unique human being with so much of commitment and dedication to his people, it stated that the organization had witnessed great patience and tolerance in Temjen Toy while discharging his responsibilities and dealing with all types of situations 

AGOK: The Angami Gazetted Officers' Krotho stated that with the passing of Toy, the state has lost a great man, not only as a senior bureaucrat but a true leader, building team spirit and camaraderie wherever he led. He possessed an innate charisma with a benevolent disposition that earned him the well-deserved respect and admiration from everybody he came in contact with, it said.

Recounting their association with the departed official, the AGOK stated that he had been a great source of inspiration and encouragement to the Krotho. It conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members, and hoped that the departed soul rest in peace.

OHCC: “To say that late Toy was a larger than life character would be an understatement. He was an extraordinary man,” the Officers’ Hill Colony Council stated on Friday. Stating that Nagas have lost a great and visionary leader, it mourned his passing, “as his was a life of service, love, compassion and excellence.”

NWHD: The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur paid tribute and respect for Temjen Toy’s work and contribution towards the society. “His dedication and will to work for the upliftment of the society, his great leadership qualities with deep intellect and knowledge will fondly be remembered and the void created by his demise will forever be felt,” it stated.

The NWHD expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed that the almighty God would be their strength and comforter at this hour of grief.

ICFAI: The ICFAI University Nagaland mourned the loss of an eminent individual who had been an asset to the State of Nagaland. “At this time of bereavement, the fraternity of IUN expresses its deep condolence to the family members. May the departed soul rest in peace!” it said.

CNSA: “He was a man of wisdom having great concern and love for the state and its people for which he was loved and admired by all. His moral voice and guidance will be deeply missed at this time when the state seems to need his presence the most,” the Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) stated.

It extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members and also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

ENPUD: In a condolence message, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Dimapur (ENPUD) stated that his sincere love and genuine concern for the people of Eastern Nagaland will always be cherished.

With profound sadness, the ENPUD conveys our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that the almighty grant them strength and solace in this hour of grief, the release stated.

KSON: Stating that the death of an honest and dedicated officer such as Temjen Toy is a tremendous loss to the entire state of Nagaland, the Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland conveyed its sincere condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty would lend them the strength and comfort during this difficult hour.

DENSU: Stating that Temjen Toy was known by his noble deeds and compassion for the people, the Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union stated that his demise was a great loss for the state. The union extended its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members and close associates. 

ENCSU: The Eastern Nagaland College Students Union (ENCSU) extended their deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Temjen Toy and prayed that the Almighty God give them strength and spiritual courage to overcome the immense loss. “May his soul be at peace with our heavenly father,” it added.

PPC: “We are deeply saddened by the loss that we the Nagas in general had to encounter at this juncture,” Phom Peoples Council (PPC) said in its condolence message. The Council expressed solidarity with the Ao community and prayed for peace for late Temjen Toy.

GPPK: The Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) expressed shock over Temjen’s demise and stated that it was a loss not only to the family and the State but also for the Gorkha Community. He was a dynamic administrator and a great soul who had association with Gorkhas from his school days and encouraged all social activities of the Gorkha Public Panchayat, it stated. The GPPK along with other Gorkha NGOs sent deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

USSC: The office of the United Sangtam Students' Conference (USSC) also expressed deep shock and sadness at the demise of the bureaucrat. “He was an illustrious administrator, his loss has caused irreparable vacuum which would be hard to fill,” the USSC stated.

SNUNS: The South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) grieved Temjen’s demise stating that, “We have lost one of the most proficient IAS officers who is also humble, dedicated and an influential civil servant. It is such an irreplaceable loss for the Nagas.”

MSK: The Malayali Samajam Kohima (MSK) also extended its condolences and described Toy as not only an able administrator but also affectionate human being. "He was always supportive for the well being of the members of Malayali communities living in Nagaland,” it said, while conveying condolences to the bereaved family. The MSK also prayed for the late bureaucrat to rest in peace.

NCSU: The Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) mourned the demise of Chief Secretary Temjen Toy and remembered him as a “dynamic, upright man of principle, who always listened and was willing to help people without any partiality and reservation.” The Union conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family.

CPO: Mourning the Chief Secretary’s demise, the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) described him as a “unique personality in our Naga society.” It prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
