More condolences pour in for late Theyo

Kohima, August 30 (MExN): Condolences poured in today for the former Minister and MLA of Nagaland, Neutsutso Theyo, popularly known as N Theyo, who passed away after a brief illness, at Oking Hospital Kohima on August 29.

 

TR Zeliang: The leader of opposition TR Zeliang expressing  grief over the demise stated that the departed leader has always been an inspiration and a treasured guide to many in the society. Over the years, Late Theyo served the State and the people in various capacities and did so with “utmost sincerity and dedication,” Zeliang said, adding that he stood out amongst his contemporaries as he also served the masses in various civil bodies, apart from being in politics. The demise of Theyo is a “great loss to the Naga people and the Chakesang community in particular,” Zeliang said, further extending along with his family members their condolences and prayer of solace to the members of the bereaved family, and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. 

 

NLA Speaker: Expressing sadness over the demise, the Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Vikho – O Yhoshü remembered that Late Theyo was a man with multifaceted caliber. “I knew him and uphold him to be a humble and a dynamic leader who worked diligently for the welfare and upliftment of his constituency and for the people of Nagaland in general,” he said in a condolence note. On behalf of the 13th NLA, the speaker conveyed condolences to the bereaved children and family members and prayed to God to grant solace and comfort as well as eternal rest in peace for the departed soul. 

 

Neiba Kronu:  Minister for Planning & Co-ordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu mourned the demise of N. Theyo, former minister and chairman Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC). He was a very humble, God fearing and peace making person, Kronu stated in a condolence message. Before entering into active politics, he also served under various capacities for the welfare of the community, he stated and conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family.  May his soul rest in peace, he added.


Chingwang Konyak: NDPP President, Chingwang Konyak expressing sadness to learn about the demise of the former Minister recollected their association together under Hokishe Sema Ministry in erstwhile NNO government. “He was also one of the Vice Presidents Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee when I was its President NPCC from 1992-1995,” he informed recollecting late Theyo as a “simple and strength forward person.” He further conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family members. 

 

CHK: Expressing sadness over the demise, the Chakhesang  Hoho Kohima (CHK) in a condolence message remembered late Theyo was “a tall leader amongst the Nagas.” After retiring from active politics, he tirelessly worked for peace in the Naga Society and had served as the Chairman, Nagaland Peace Centre till he breathes his last, it said. Recalling him as a refined gentleman who lived his life to the fullest the CHK stated: “In his death, Nagas had lost a towering fatherly figure.” It further shared its sympathy and conveyed its condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. 

 

Vekho Swuro:  Dr Er Vekho Swuro, Chairman Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial Development Society Nagaland (NSCBMDSN) also expressed shock over the sudden demise and said he learned so many things from Late Theyo. “He was a man of integrity, honesty, frank and straightforward in his dealings and approaches. He was a father figure not only to our community but also to many Nagas in general and we will feel his absence greatly,” Swuro said. The NSCBMDSN further conveyed its deepest condolences to the family and prayed to God to grace and comfort the family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

 

Thenucho Tunyi: In a condolence message, former minister Thenucho Tunyi described Theyo as a “God fearing leader and an exemplary Christian.” “He was one of the most stable politicians who stood firm by his beliefs and never wavered,” he said, further conveying his prayer of solace to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace
