Kohima, September 26 (DIPR): The District Level Coordination Committee Quarterly meeting was held on September 26 at DC Conference Hall Kohima. A total of 17 educational institutions were declared Tobacco Free.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, KMC Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose informed that the shops selling tobacco products near the schools within a radius of 100 yards will be penalized and their Trade License will be seized. The members also discussed the agendas and approved including, Acoustic Musical Concert cum Tobacco Awareness and Tobacco free villages.
The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS who also delivered the welcome address.
Activities of District Tobacco Control Cell Kohima were highlighted by Dr.Arenla Walling, District Nodal Officer Kohima. She also informed that car stickers on harmful effects of Tobacco would be distributed for free under Kohima by Ambassador of Smoke Free and Project 72 Hrs Kohima, Sievituo Solo.
