2nd Wokha District Chess C’ship

Dimapur, May 20 (MExN):
Wokha District Chess Association’s (WDCA) - 2nd Wokha District Chess Championship is scheduled from June 2 to 4 at Hornbill Restaurant, Wokha. It is themed: ‘Aim for Excellence’. WDCA President, S. Ekonthung Ezung in a press release has informed interested players (irrespective of gender) to collect forms with a payment of Rs. 500, either at Hornbill Restaurant or BSNL Sub-Franchise on or before May 31. The association further informed all the players to enclose two copies of recent passport size photographs alongwith the entry forms. The Association further extended good wishes to all the participating players, success in the championship.

Azo to grace State Chess C’ship

Kohima, May 20 (MExN):
Minister for Health & Family welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will grace the closing ceremony of Nagaland State Chess championship on May 21 at Red Cross Society Conference, Kohima at 5.00 pm. A press release issued by NCA joint secretary, Mengise Haikam stated that the Nagaland’s top-20 players, including 8 International ELO rated players are vying for the premier championship. The top-four finishers of the championship will represent Nagaland in the 49th National Challenger 2011 at Aurangabad.

KDTTA meeting on May 23

Kohima, May 20 (MExN):
Kohima District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA) has called a meeting on May 23 at 3:00 pm at the T.T.Stadium, Kohima. The association in a press release informed that the meeting will dicuss matters pertaining to the forthcoming Kohima District Open Table Tennis Championship scheduled next month and other agendas of the KDTTA.  It requested all the office bearers and executive members to attend the meeting without fail while adding that attendance is compulsory. “Members failing to attend the meeting may write a letter for leave of absence to the President/General Secretary, KDTTA,” the release stated.

Youth Aflame Challenger Cup in June

DIMAPUR, MAY 20 (MExN):
  Youth Aflame’s ‘Challenger Cup 2011, 8 Men & 5 Women Open Basketball Championship’ will commence from June13-22 at the Kohima local ground.  The organizers in a press note informed that interested teams can collect entry forms at Sports World Kohima, Opposite Baroda Bank from May 23 onwards or can download from www.youthafl.webs.com. The prize money for the championship is Rs. 40, 000 and Rs. 20, 000 for ‘Men’ and Rs. 20, 000 and Rs. 10, 000 for ‘Women’, apart from individual prizes.
