Dimapur, Nov 28 (MExN): Expanding its network to Nagaland, General Motors India today inaugurated its full-fledged dealership M/s Urban Station at 6th Mile, Dimapur with Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director, General Motors India gracing the occasion as the chief guest. With the inauguration of its state-of-art showroom in Dimapur, GM India has now 91 sales points and 92 service outlets across the country.
Speaking at the occasion, Chaba said that GM India is in the process of appointing more dealers and authorized service outlets in urban and semi-urban cities to widen its network. Chaba also disclosed that the company plans to put in place 100 sales points and 106 service outlet across the country by the end of this year. GM India has laid the foundation stone for its second plant at Talegaon in Maharashtra which is expected to start commercial production by later part of 2008. The new facility will have a production capacity of 1,40,000 units in the beginning making the overall investment more than Rs.3,350 crores. The Halol capacity has also been increased to 85,000 units yearly to take the total capacity to 2, 20,000 units by the end of 2008.
The dealership is equipped to provide unmatched services and ambiance to its customers with a wide range of exclusive accessories display for customers’ benefit said Chaba. A team of GM trained engineers will be available at the ultra modern workshop with latest gadget tools and tackles, diagnostic equipments, ultra modern body repair shop and computerized facilities for attending to every need of GM customers in the region.
