Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): Kaung Myat Mingalar Company Limited and Nagaland contractor & supplier, D. Yongnyak signed MoU on July 26 in Kolkata for supplying organic goods from Nagaland to Myanmar.
“This year alone five MoUs have been signed between Myanmar and North East (NE) India, mostly from Mizoram and Nagaland,” a release from U Yan Fa Kyauk, Project Director, Kaung Myat Mingalar Company Limited said.
“Two MoUs were signed for supplying of products from North East to Myanmar and three MoUs import and export of services and goods from India to Myanmar and vice versa,” the release added.
One MoU was signed by Shwe Naung Yan Company, which is owned by a Myanmar based Naga businessman, and two others with North East Indian company and an Indian bank.
The project aims at setting up an MFI (Micro Finance Institute) at Indo-Myanmar borders as well as import and export of farm products like cardamom and varieties of pulses and soya bean, it further stated, adding it will boost the economy of the rural and remote border areas.
