Dimapur, September 2 (MExN): Mount Mary College (MMC) Dimapur held its fresher’s day on August 31, at Joyce Complex, Chümuokedima.
A press release issued by the College said that the event was arranged by the Students’ Council MMC B.Ed. It stated that Wochamo Odyuo, Additional Commissioner of State Taxes speaking at the event as the special guest asserted that teaching is not a profession but a calling, and in order to fulfill that calling one needs to have commitment, he added. Odyuo said that at times teaching can be tiring but at the same time, noble and rewarding. He also encouraged the teacher-students to go back as a changed person, after the completion of the course, the release said.
The programme was compeered by Sentirenla J Rengma; invocation was made by Lucy Dukru (Asst Professor); welcome note was given by Beituo Mepfhuo (President, SCMMCB.Ed); a special song was presented by Holika A Achumi; words of encouragement by Teeya Imsong (MD MMC B. Ed); words of gratitude by Wekhem Zeliang; vote of thanks was pronounced by Bursenla Walling (Asst Information and publicity secretary, SC MMC B.Ed) and benediction by Alem Jamir (Asst. Professor). Hopong Naga made a special appearance in the second session, the release added.
