Department of Psychology and Counselling, Mount Mary College organised a walkathon on October 7.

Chümoukedima, October 7 (MExN): With the aim to enhance the mental well-being of teachers and students at Mount Mary Higher Secondary School, the Department of Psychology and Counselling, Mount Mary College organised a walkathon to mark World Mental Health Day (October 7). 

Under the theme ‘mental health is a universal human right,’ the event sought to emphasise importance of mental health awareness and support for all, the organisers stated in a press release. 

National Vice President, BJP India and Chairman, MARCOFED, Nagaland, Dr M Chuba Ao, the guest of honour, in his speech said, “Culture of active communication and bonding with people has decreased over the years. Things are changing very fast and addiction is one of the factors that affect mental wellbeing.” Dr Ao pointed out addiction as a significant factor affecting mental well-being, emphasizing the need to address this issue collectively. 

C Nungshimongla, Principal, MMHSS; Kaiminthang Singson, Winner, Mister Chümoukedima 2023 and Keneingulie Kuotsu, 2nd Runners-up, Mister Chümoukedima 2023 were the special invitees.
