Chümoukedima, August 19 (MExN): Mount Mary College, Chümoukedima, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Pune (JALTAP) to promote Japanese language education, cultural exchange, skill development and career opportunities for students.

The collaboration will facilitate Japanese language classes, workshops, interactive sessions, proficiency-test preparation and cultural learning, enabling students to develop language skills and gain broader global exposure.

A key focus of the initiative is to connect Japanese language learning with career opportunities in Japan and with Japanese organisations. Students proficient in Japanese can explore career pathways in human resources, administration, teaching, translation and interpretation, hospitality, tourism, customer service, business support and other sectors, subject to relevant qualifications and employment requirements.

An interactive session on the Japanese Language Education Programme was also held at the college auditorium on August 19, introducing students to opportunities associated with learning Japanese and pursuing future academic and career pathways.

The MoU marks an important step in Mount Mary College’s efforts towards skill development, employability, international exposure and holistic student development. It is expected to open new avenues for students to explore language, culture, education and employment opportunities connected with Japan.
