MP Kenye graces Middle Khomi village cultural day

Middle Khomi village today observed its 5th Cultural Day at Middle Khomi village under Phek district with KG Kenye, MP Rajya Sabha as the special guest.

Middle Khomi celebrates cultural day once in every five year.

Speaking on the occasion, Kenye complimented Middle Khomi village for emerging a positive change and rapid advancement in many areas and wish them healthy and prosperity.

He lauded the pioneers and villager elders for their farsightedness and comprehensive planning, thereby registering a significant growth in the different fields.

He asked the villagers to continue to uphold and practice the rich culture and traditional practices, which represents the identity and uniqueness of the Nagas.

Kenye maintained that our culture and traditional practices keep one’s identify alive and strengthen “our political rights.”

Culture is our identity card, he said.

Touching on modernization, he called upon the people to examine the pros and cons of the other lifestyles as well and desist from imitating the one which are harmful and threat to one’s culture.

Stressing on the need to have unity and peace for all round development, he urged upon the villagers to be peacemaker and ambassador of peace.

Traditional songs and dances marked the cultural day.

The programme was chaired by Vekhotso Lohe while welcome address was delivered by Ciekropa Tenenu.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Vediisii Lohe.
