MPCC reacts to Manipur CM’s apology demand from AICC president

Newmai News Network Imphal | April 20   Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, TN Haokip asked Chief Minister, N Biren and BJP Manipur State unit president, Kshetrimayum Bhavananda to "show interest in the State issues instead of taking keen interest in the National issues."   The MPCC chief reacted strongly to the comments of the Chief Minister and the BJP Manipur State unit president after the latter had demanded an apology from AlCC president Rahul Gandhi and his team for allegedly making false charges against BJP National president Amit Shah in connection with the death of Supreme Court Judge Justice BH Loya.   "It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister and the BJP Manipur State unit president demanded apology from our National president," TN Haokip expressed.   Speaking to media persons at the Congress Bhawan here today, TN Haokip said, “Biren should clean his house before cleaning other people's house.”   TN Haokip then cautioned, “We have enough stones to throw back if they (BJP) start throw us stones".  He added, “Our Congress leader Rahul Gandhi cannot tender apology to Amit Shah.” Haokip expressed that the Congress and other opposition parties are not satisfied on Justice Loya case.   The MPCC president then said that after BJP came to power in India many journalists were killed, children and women are not safe and writers and intellectuals left the country after being threatened. He added that even lawyers are not safe under the BJP government. "In this situation, does the real democracy exist in India," he questioned.   TN Haokip claimed that there was peaceful co-existence during the UPA led Congress regime. "But when the BJP came to power, the package system has failed and financial institutions collapsed, Home departments failed," alleged Haokip.   The MPCC president then stated that the Congress is observing the Manipur BJP government.
