Newmai Network Imphal | March 17 The Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited (MPHC) will take up construction work of Transit Accommodation for Doctors and Teachers at 19 locations of hill districts and Jiribam with an amount of Rs 59.88 crores under One Time Assistance of Central Plan Scheme during 2017-18, said PM Goud, Managing Director, MPHC today. Doctors and teachers of Manipur posted particularly in the remote and far flung areas of hill districts faced many hardships due to non-availability of proper accommodation. As the road connectivity and communication even from the district headquarters to the interior of the hill districts are still in developing stage, their stay at the posting places is a must. In order to utilize their services for the welfare of common people in the health sector and to explore the maximum resource for development of human resources their proper accommodation which is fully secure is highly needed. By providing accommodation facilities at these locations, inconveniences will reduce to the minimum and at the same time their services for the welfare of the public could be extracted at the maximum level, added Goud said. Right after the inauguration of women market, “Nute Bazar”, Churachandpur by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in his March 16 visit at Imphal, the other ongoing construction women markets of Ukhrul, Senapati, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi, Jiribam ( except Chandel) are planning to inaugurate within April 2018. Other important works to be taken up by the Corporation include Development of Eco Tourism Project at Cheirao Ching, Thangmeiband (Rs 13.31 crores), Cave tourism Project at Kangkhui Cave, Ukhrul district (Rs 7.50 crores), Residential complex for Teachers, Doctors and Nurses at 47 locations (Rs 147.96 crores), Infrastructure of Behiang Police Station (Rs 4.50 crores), Infrastructure of five Police station Joujangtek, Tamei, Thangal, Tolloi and Kamjong (Rs 8.65 crores), Infrastructure of four Police Outposts (Rs 4.46 crores), Hill (Tribal) Chief Guest House at Palace compound, Imphal East (Rs 7.00 crores), Establishment of Fitness centre at Khurai Konsam Leikai, Imphal East (Rs 3.00 crores), Construction of Chamdil Town Hall at Chandel (Rs 2.37 crores), Improvement of Playfield of Nungsong Khullen village, Ukhrul district (Rs 2.00 crores), Construction of Sub-Division level mini indoor stadium at Chandel (Rs 2.00 crores), Construction of Wangbaren Temple at Anal Khullen, Chandel district, Construction of Heritage Park at Shirui village, Ukhrul district (Rs 5.00 crores), Construction of Indoor Mini stadium at Luwangsangbam (Rs 3.00 crores) and Construction of Maharaja Chandrakirti Memorial park at Chibu, Churachandpurdistrict.
