MSME holds 'Stakeholder and Government Policies & Initiatives' workshop in Imphal

The 'Stakeholder and Government Policies and Initiatives' workshop organized by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Commissionerate (MSME), Government of India, was held  at Imperial Hall, Classic Grande Hotel, Imphal on Monday.

 

The workshop was organized with the objective to provide an introduction of Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP) program and to understand stakeholders’ needs, challenges and their expectations from Technology Centre (TC).

 

Another objective of the workshop was to prioritize the area of interventions and to formulate an action plan to work together for achieving the higher growth and competitiveness of MSME in Manipur and also to introduce the cluster members about the existing Government Schemes/Programs and encourage them to utilize relevant schemes/programs.  

 

Speaking at the workshop, P. Vaiphei, Principal Secretary, Textile, Commerce and Industry Government of Manipur said that the workshop focused on almost all the aspects of different sectors. "A workshop by its very nature will not mean somebody giving a lecture and somebody listening. Rather, it will be an interaction session as somebody will teach you and there you will ask your difficulties or you can come out with case relevant and raise your issues", Vaiphei added.

 

Vaiphei then said that he was impressed of taking up the value additional aspect of medicinal plants by mentioning the history while he was working as a Health Secretary in 2007. "With some Ayurvedic doctors, a seminar on National Medicinal Plant was organized along with National Institute for shifting of Biodiversity. It was a successful seminar. It sowed a big seed as it had awakened most of the departments. They had shared their experiences and focused on much potential that we have in our state comparing with the other states in pertain to topography, climate and soil. We have the benefits of having various products in both hills and valley of our state," Vaiphei added.

 

Divesh Gautam, E&Y (PMU), KP Lal KPMG (TCM), SV Shukla Principal Director FFDC, Kannauj, Taliwati Longchar, Director i/c MSME-DI Imphal also participated in the programme.
