MSMEPCI holds first Lean Scheme training

The MSME Promotion Council of India (MSMEPCI) conducted its first MSME Competitive Lean Scheme programme in Nagaland at the Directorate of Information Technology & Communication (IT&C) office on Wednesday.

The event, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state, was moderated by Akhriebou Khoubve and attended by entrepreneurs and industry representatives.

Delivering the welcome address, MSMEPCI Nagaland State Chairman, Lanu Akum Jamir highlighted the importance of the Lean Scheme in empowering local entrepreneurs. The MSME Competitive Lean training session was led by Ambedkar Kasnia, lean and Zed master trainer.

The Lean Scheme is designed to enhance the operational efficiency of MSMEs by addressing inefficiencies in their production processes. Some key components include capacity building, financial support, training and implementation, cluster approach.

The scheme is expected to enhance productivity of local entrepreneurs by reducing production costs and improving product quality, making them more competitive in regional and national markets.

With Nagaland’s limited industrial base, the scheme ensures efficient use of local resources, including raw materials and labor.

Entrepreneurs can also receive up to 90% financial assistance, reducing the financial burden of adopting lean practices.

It is also expected that the training will enhance the technical and managerial skills of local entrepreneurs. With increased productivity, business growth is expected with more employment opportunities for the youth in Nagaland.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Er Kahuli Seman, State Vice Chairperson of MSMEPCI Nagaland, who expressed optimism about the positive impact of the scheme on the state's MSME sector.
