MTF gives training on good sound management

A five days training on good sound management was held from the March 18 to 22 at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA) by the Music Task Force (MTF), Youth Resources and Sports Department, Kohima.
The topics taken in these five days were, Input and the devices, processing technicalities and output and the devices. Besides these, soldering of various gadgets and wires were also taken up both in theory as well as practical. The MTF provided the trainees with all the required gadgets required for the training and the refreshments free of cost.
In the valedictory function on March 22, the special guest, Akumla Chuba, NCS, Director Youth Resources and Sports exhorted the participants to take this up professionally. She said that MTF and Youth Resources Department will create more opportunities and platforms for young people. “Sound Managers are the unsung heroes” was what she said about sound managers because Artists cannot become popular without them, but they are never really recognized or acclaimed. Since the training was also going on even on a National Holiday, i.e. Holi, the Director praised the MTF team for their dedication to work. She challenged the participants to carry whatever they have learnt to a higher level of excellence. The Director also gave away the participatory Certificates.
George Arche, spoke on behalf of the 35 participants that attended the training. He thanked the Youth Resources and Sports Department and Music Task Force for creating opportunities for young people to up their skills. He also thanked the organizers for giving everything free of cost including soldering gadgets, accessories and all the food and snacks. On behalf of all the participants he assured that they will give their best for the society with what they have learnt. George also requested the MTF to organize more of such programs in the future with an assurance that he would surely come again if given another opportunity as he would love to learn more.
The Project Director MTF Dr. Hovithal Sothu, chaired the program and gave the welcome address, while Adu Keditsu, Manager MTF pronounced the vote of thanks. He thanked the Director for making her time available for the MTF and the Youth and also for the encouragement and guidance. He also thanked the resource persons Menguzelie Marcus Geisuo, the Sound Engineer, MTF and Arihba Kips for their dedication to their work and training our participants the maximum they can in the five days.
