Pungro, January 8 (MExN): A newly constructed multi-purpose building, constructed under DUDA (BADP) at model village Pungro was inaugurated by the Advisor for Evaluation, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), T. Torechu as chief guest on January 6.
Speaking on the occasion, Torechu said that this building can be used for meetings, seminars and other social programmes for the betterment and benefits of the society. He urged upon the peoples to utilize and maintain the building judiciously and generate income channel through this building.
Torechu further called upon the village council to co-operate and work with utmost ‘transparency and accountability’ for the successful venture to promote socio – economic development of the rural peoples.
The chief guest also said that there had been a large scale and visible sign of developmental aspects in the areas while more developmental activities and people’s oriented policies are in the process of being implemented.
Earlier, the dedication prayer was pronounced by church secretary PVBB. Resangmew, while the dedication programme was chaired by Chipong VCC Pungro village. Invocation was prayed by Pastor PVBB Rikhum. Welcome address was delivered by Vongtsukiu, 2nd GB Pungro Village. Benediction was pronounced by women pastor PVBB, Akhala.
The programme was attended by SDO (Civil) Pungro, Samuel Thyug, village councils, GBs, village leaders and party workers.
