Tuensang, January 11 (MExN): The Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Tuensang sponsored Multi Skilled Handyman Training programme with training partnership Zynorique Initiatives Society (ZIC) was inaugurated at Town Hall, Tuensang on January 11.

According to a DIPR report, the 10-day training on plumbers, tiling and electricians will be held at Town Hall and GHSS Thangjam, Tuensang.

The special guest of the inaugural programme, ADC Tuensang Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS appreciated the opportunity for the district to help guide the youngsters for skill development.

“The most important components of the project are the trainees, the commitment and interest of the trainees on the training is very important without which the training programme will have no positive result,” he said.

“Tuensang district is one of the most remote districts with poor connectivity where employment opportunities lack due to non-availability of the industries and big companies; so this kind of Skill Development trainings is very essential for the unemployed youth to get skills to employ oneself,” he also mentioned. The ADC Tuensang emphasised on the importance of skills and advised the trainees that one should have interest and plan accordingly with strategies so that job opportunities will surely be at the door step.

Richard Belho, ZIS gave the introduction where he advised the trainees not to wait for the government jobs only but to equip our self with skills. “It is our birth right to build our nation but since Nagas have lost the work culture we fail in contributing in building our state,” he said.

Regarding the training, he said that it is a unique programme to impart skills so that one individual can play a multi tasking role in their employment. This programme is a stage wise/level project in which the government is all set ready to equip the trainees with the equipment along with the completion of the trainings, he said.

The inaugural programme was led by Er Netenba Ajem, Vice Principal, ITI Tuensang.
