
Dimapur, Feb 4 (MExN): The Atlanta based COSYNE Enterprises, an Information Technology services company offering certified degrees in the field of information technology and which was brought to Dimapur in the year 2005 is shifting its headquarter out of the city because of poor response from the people of the state, though it will still maintain a branch in Dimapur.
Dr Naro Imcha, the president of COSYNE enterprises said that the response from the Naga public in the field of IT is not encouraging. She said that the people want fast results without going through the regular process of learning steadily and thoroughly.
On being asked what would be the affect of their company moving out of Dimapur, Dr Naro Imcha said that after they shifted their NE head quarter to Guwahati, the COSYNE Enterprises in receiving a lot of investment from other IT firms and has tied up with other companies like STPI and AMTRON, she said that if they decide to stay on in Dimapur, then perhaps with positive response from the public, the company could have blossomed in the state with investment from other companies which would have greatly helped the people economically and academically in the field of Information Technology.
DR Naro Imcha when asked if the Naga people are still not aware of the potentialities in the field of IT frankly said that the people still don’t see the potentialities in IT. She said that after they moved to Guwahati, they are having good response from the people not only in Assam but also from Mizoram, Meghalaya and other places.
However, Dr Imcha said that the main idea for moving out from Nagaland not was not only because of poor response from the people but also because of the fact that Guwahati is the ‘gateway’ for the North East region and being based there proves to be more profitable with regards to investment and students’ enrolment.
It may be mentioned that COSYNE Enterprises which is a multinational Information Technology Services company based in Atlanta, USA and was founded in 1998 by Perry Ram, an immigrant from India and an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
The COSYNE Enterprises is the first computer school in the state to provide certified computer courses. The company has so far certified fifty six students and is presently employing them in the company as tutors and other staffs. The company is shifting its office to Guwahati.
