Mutulo Puro wins painting competition on ‘Unity in Diversity’

Kohima, March 3 (MExN): As part of the nationwide campaign, Regional Outreach Bureau under Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Kohima organised Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme on ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ at St Peter’s School, Kohima on March 3.
A painting competition on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ was held to mark the occasion. Mutulo Puro won the first prize; Limeka received the second prize while Kitemenla bagged the third prize.
A PIB Kohima press statement said that the event was held to celebrate the idea of India as a nation and highlight on the state of Madhya Pradesh, which has partnered with Nagaland under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’ The aim of the event is to strengthen cultural relations between the two states, promote national integration, showcase the rich heritage and culture, customs and tradition of either state for enabling people to understand and appreciate unity in diversity, the release added.
Resource person, Temsu, faculty St Peter’s School highlighted the diverse cuisine, geography, festivals important places of Madhya Pradesh.
Similar programme was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kohima on March 2. Various activities were conducted during the programme. Painting competition, essay writing competition in English and Hindi (the official language of Madhya Pradesh) quiz competition and presentation of Folk songs of Madhya Pradesh were some of the activities of the programme.
