NACHO recommits to provide accessible quality healthcare services in Nagaland

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): Nagaland Association of Community Health Officers (NACHO) celebrated its first year anniversary cum annual general meeting at Iwu Shi Garden in Dimapur on October 10.

The event was attended by CHOs from all over the state, including Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dimapur, Dr Antoly Swu, who commended the efforts of the CHOs and urged them to strive for excellence. Dr Swu expressed her appreciation for the hard work and dedication shown by the CHOs and stated that CHOs are the backbone of health care in the state.


During the event, Yingngam Konyak, CHO from T/ Chingha HWC, shed light on some of the challenges faced by health officers working in interior districts. She highlighted issues such as limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and difficulties in reaching remote areas. Despite these challenges, Konyak also shared some remarkable achievements made by CHOs in providing healthcare services to underserved communities.

“The NACHO anniversary celebration provided an opportunity for health officers to come together and share their experiences. It served as a platform for them to discuss strategies to overcome challenges and improve healthcare delivery in Nagaland,” the association stated in a press release. 

The event concluded with a renewed commitment from all CHOs present to continue working towards their goal of providing accessible and quality healthcare services to all residents of Nagaland. 

“The NACHO anniversary celebration not only recognised their achievements but also served as a reminder that there is still much work to be done. The first year anniversary celebration of NACHO serves as a testament to their commitment towards this goal,” it asserted.
