Naga Chef returns with 6th Edition

Winner to walk away with cash prize of Rs. 3 lakhs

The much acclaimed Naga Chef is back with its sixth edition. After conducting screening round at various locations, 12 contestants were selected to cook their way to clear the first elimination round, ‘Culinary skills’ at Mhachaki, Kohima on November 19.  

It was an intensive contest where the knowledge of Naga ingredients and cooking skills were put to test and now 8 contestants, four each male and female, have been selected for the next elimination round - ‘My Signature Dish’ to be held tomorrow, November 20, at Mhachaki, Kohima.  

The competition will have several rounds to enable identification of the various skills required to be a successful chef and entrepreneur. The top contestants will then compete for the coveted title at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, from December 1 to 9, 2018 coinciding with the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland.   Naga Chef, an annual event organized by Synergy Group Enterprise and supported by Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland is the pioneer culinary competition in Nagaland and the North-East.  

It aims to promote Naga indigenous cuisine and to provide a platform to all Naga cooks who have true passion to showcase the age-old Naga recipes to the world while also aspiring to showcase the varied delicacies of the different tribes during the festival by way of presenting Naga indigenous cuisines of high quality.  

The winner of Naga Chef Season 6 will walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakhs, while the finalists will receive lots of gifts and additional benefits to pursue their culinary dreams.
