DIMAPUR, DEC 16 (MExN): Alleging that the demand for a unified Naga homeland had further aggravated the violence in strife-torn Karbi Anglong, the Janjati Faith and Culture Protection Forum, a Guwahati based organization, today said in a memorandum submitted to Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil that it was a wide spread perception that Church inspired Naga insurgency is the mother of all insurgencies and separatist movements in the northeast. “Infiltration of Bangladeshis Muslims into various group conflicts in the region has also added to the disturbed conditions in the volcanic north east,” the release further said.
The organization terms the demand of militant Karbi and Dimasa outfits for separate States as one of the probable reasons of the clashes between the UPDS and the DHD while stating that the NSCN (IM) is in connivance with the Black Widow, a breakaway faction of the DHD.
