Bangalore, November 27 (MExN): A Naga person from Manipur working in Bangalore was stabbed by 4 robbers in the early morning of November 26. A press statement from the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) informed that 24-year-old Sosem Zimik was stabbed by the bike-borne assailants. The victim works at Mudpipe, Cunningham Road and reportedly stays with his sisters in Austin Town, Bangalore. The incident occurred on his way back from work around 12:50 am on November 26. According to the NSUB, the victim said it was a case of robbery and the “intention of the 4 people was to get mobile phone and money out of it.” An FIR was registered at Ashok Nagar police station and the inspector of the station, Shashadar SD promised to take up “immediate action against the criminals and provide better security,” it added. Expressing concern over the incident, the NSUB said it was not an isolated case and there were two such incidents in July and August this year as well as last year. NSUB President Nuthipru Nienu stated in the press release that while the Police department of Karnataka “so far have given a good support to the North-East people in times of difficulties” there are still couple of cases which is yet to be resolved. In this regard, he urged the departments concerned to give their best so as to provide true justice to the victims.
