Naga organizations and leaders remember C Sashi Naga

Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): Messages of condolence poured in on Tuesday for ENPO president C Sashi Naga who passed away on May 17.

WC, NNPGs: “He was one of the very few civil society leaders who did not surrender his integrity and social responsibility to intimidations, fame or fortune. By dint of hard work, honesty and commitment, he rose through the ranks and became ENPO President,” the Working Committee (WC), Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), stated in it condolence note. 

Describing late Sashi as an upright man, a social reformer, a missionary and a leader of men, it stated that the “WC, NNPGs had pinned great hope on his leadership skills to strengthen the formidable partnership with all ENPO affiliated tribes for an overall Naga unity.” His ardent desire for an honourable and acceptable political solution was always spelled out at many consultative meets, it added.

Conveying condolences to the bereaved family, the WC, NNPGs stated that “His positive footprints will inspire ENPO tribes in particular and Nagas in general in all social and political matters.”

APO: In its message, the Angami Public Organization stated that late C Sashi naga was a tall leader who devoted his life in the servitude of the Eastern Naga People in various capacities. In his demise the Eastern Nagaland family and the Nagas in general have lost a visionary leader, it stated, adding that his immense contributions would always be cherished. It further conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the ENPO family. 

ENSA: The Eastern Naga Students' Association (ENSA) described late Sashi as a dedicated leader who had a vision to bring the ‘divided Naga society’ together. It said that his death was a great loss for the Eastern Naga people and Nagas in general, and that the vacuum create d by his demise would be difficult to fill up. “The ENSA would like to extend our heartfelt condolence message to the bereaved family members and loved ones at this hour of grief and pain,” it added.

YGOA: “Late Sashi Naga was a selfless and fine gentleman who envisioned to serve the public even before he assumed the office of the President of ENPO. In the quest to serve his people, he even had to relinquish his government job which in itself exhibits the sacrificial quality of a true leader,” the Yimchunger Gazetted Officers’ Association stated in its message. His untimely death is not only a loss for the people of ENPO but to the Nagas as a whole, it said, while conveying condolences to the bereaved family members and loved ones. 

TR Zeliang: Leader of the Opposition TR Zeliang also paid tribute to the departed leader. He said that late Sashi was a gentleman who dedicated his life for the welfare of the people and especially the ENPO region. “His untimely demise at this hour will create a huge vacuum and is a great loss for the people of our State and in particular the ENPO,” Zeliang stated as he conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. 

SNUNS: The Southern Nagas Union of Nagaland State organisation said that late Sashi’s demise was an irreplaceable loss for the people of ENPO in particular and all the Nagas, who have untimely lost a selfless and trustworthy leader.

“We express our sympathy and offer our humble prayers towards our ENPO brothers and the bereaved family at this time of grief,” it stated.

NFHRCC: The NFHRCC fraternity, in its message, stated that late Sashi was an upright and fearless leader throughout his entire span of life. Stating that his death was a great loss to the Nagas, it paid for peace and solace for the bereaved family and the departed soul. 

ENSUB: Paying tribute to the departed leader, the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Bengaluru stated that “The unfortunate demise has snatched away a promising leader with great potential and left a vacuum which will be difficult to fill in. His inspiring leadership towards his people will always be cherished and remembered.” It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones.

CSUD: “We will remember his commitment and contribution toward the Eastern Nagas and he will be missed by the community at large. The Union would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family on this bereavement. We pray to the almighty to give all of you the strength to bear this great loss with courage and fortitude,” the Chang Students’ Union Dimapur (CSUD) said in its message. 

Lotha Hoho: The Lotha Hoho also conveyed condolences and sympathy to the ENPO and the bereaved family of late C Sashi Naga. “Since nothing happens without the will of God; the Lotha Hoho, in its heart, prays that the Almighty God would grant wisdom and strength to the bereaved family and ENPO to overcome this sorrow and be able to keep going in His strength,” it added. 

PGOA: The Phom Gazetted Officers' Association (PGOA) remembered the late leader as a dedicated social worker and a visionary leader who has contributed his best for the welfare of Eastern Nagaland and the Nagas. “The immense void left behind is irreplaceable... The Association joins his family in this hour of mourning and prays to the Almighty God to grant comfort and strength to the bereaved family members,” it stated. 

ENCSU: The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) mourned the passing of a “fatherly figure of Eastern Nagaland,” and described late C Sashi Naga as “a vibrant leader, a preacher and a dedicated social reformer who have significantly sacrificed and contributed most of his time towards the welfare and growth of the least advantage section of people.” His legacy will be remembered and inspire the future generations in the days to come, it stated while conveying condolences to the bereaved family and well-wishers. 

ENSUC: “He was a rare leader who earned the love and admiration of the people for his straightforwardness, sense of public service, innate simplicity and honesty. In his death, the ENPO and Nagas in general has lost an eminent leader and an excellent human being,” the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union, Chümoukedima stated in its condolence message to the bereaved family members. 

ESH: The Eastern Sumi Hoho eulogised late Sashi as a visionary leader who worked selflessly for the welfare of the people. Conveying condolences to the bereaved family, it stated that “We have lost a tall leader whose absence will be difficult to replace. May his good deeds left behind continue to remain and inspire people.” 

KSUD: The Khiamniungan Students' Union Dimapur stated that late Sashi Naga was a great leader who served the society in all his capacities with utmost dedication, with the best of his knowledge and commitment to the fullest satisfaction of all concerned. “We have lost a great leader,” it said while conveying condolences to the bereaved family. 

KDCC: “Sashi Naga was a prolific leader who deserved honour and recognition not only by ENPO in particular but also by Nagas in general,” stated Khaseo Sangtam, president Kiphire District Congress Committee.

NIPF: The Nagaland Indigenous People Forum stated that late Sashi was not only an efficient officer who contributed immensely to the Police department during his service but also someone who worked selflessly for the welfare of the common people. “In his untimely demise, we have lost a father figure and a guardian of our ENPO and the Naga public in general,” it said. It conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

NTUCT: The Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and recounted his contributions both as a police officer and a public leader. Stating that his demise was a huge loss it added that his absence would be difficult to replace. His benevolent deeds and powerful legacy of humanity, simplicity and dedication shall be cherished, it added. “In this dark hour of sorrow the NTUCT conveys our heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and it is our earnest prayer that Almighty God will give them strength and solace to bear the irreparable loss.”

NSCN (IM) USR: The United Sangtam Region (USR) of the NSCN (IM), in a message issued through its CAO, stated that late Sashi Naga was a true, straight forward and God fearing leader. “In his demise the Nagas have lost a great and visionary leader,” it said while conveying condolences to the bereaved family members and loved ones.

YSUD: The Yimchungrü Students' Union Dimapur stated that late Sashi’s invaluable contributions and sacrifices towards the Eastern Nagas through the ENPO would forever be remembered. “We express our profound and heartfelt condolences to the sorrowing family and loved ones and join in their prayers for the deceased. May the Almighty give rest and peace to the departed soul,” it added.

ST Dimapur: Stating that late Sashi Naga was a God fearing and a man with great vision, the Sangtamlaru Thsingmujang Dimapur said “His demise has created a void that will be extremely hard to fill. In losing him the Sangtam people in particular and the people in Eastern Nagaland in general have lost a great and able leader, whose leadership qualities were the need of the hour.” It further conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. 

CPO: The Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) said that late C Sashi Naga was on the verge of leading his community to greater heights and that the ENPO people and the Naga community as a whole, has lost a good leader. The CPO also conveyed its deepest condolence to the bereaved family members.
