Naga representative in Myanmar highlights needs of Naga areas

Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): Myanmar’s Mandalay Division Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint invited the Naga tribe for the parliament meeting on April 4, where ministers from all the states and divisions attended.  

A press release received here informed that during the time, the media interviewed one of the Naga representatives (Naga Literacy and Cultural Secretary) Wang Yu, who highlighted several needs of the Naga people in Myanmar. He stressed on the need for peace and harmony in Naga areas, the need of education, to improve transport and communication, and to open a Naga museum where foreign tourists will be permitted to visit Self Administered Naga region without limiting the foreign tourists visit to only during the Naga Festival Season.  

Meanwhile, the release informed that the Naga Yuya, Literacy and Cultural organization, all elected MLAs from National League for Democracy (NLD) representing different tribes and ministers of all Tribe Affairs also celebrated the victory of NLD candidates in the November 8, 2015 election on April 3.
