Dimapur: ICICI Dhobinala branch, DAN office sealed

Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): Dimapur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Soundararajan has ordered the temporary sealing of two locations in Dimapur—the ICICI Dhobinala Branch and Development Authority of Nagaland office. In separate orders issued on May 10, DC Soundararajan stated that the locations were being sealed for 48 hours to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and for necessary sanitization of the premises. Any person violating these containment measures will be liable to be proceeded as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section-188 of the Indian Penal Code, the order stated. Meanwhile, in another order, the DC ordered the ‘unsealing’ of a residence at Khushiabill village stating that the residence has been “sanitized and all precautionary measures taken as per the Government guidelines.”

Two locations sealed in Mon district

Mon, May 10 (MExN): In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Naginimora ADC Vineet Kumar, has ordered the sealing of the Primary Health Centre at Ward No. 09, Naginimora for 48 hours, with immediate effect. In another order, Mon Deputy Commissioner Thavaseelan K also ordered the sealing of a house at Shantham Ward in Mon town from May 8 till further orders. Any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions as applicable, the orders stated.

Random testing in Longleng today

Longleng, May 10 (MExN): Longleng Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Task Force M Shayung Phom has informed that Random Sampling Tests for high risk groups in Longleng town will be conducted on May 11. Informing this in a press release issued through the state DIPR, the DC also stated that some persons listed in the contact tracing lists in the district have been “willfully failing to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines such as home isolation/mandatory testing despite receiving medical advisories.” As such, he cautioned that such willful defaulters would be penalized under Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. 

MHSU appeals citizens to exercise caution

Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): The Mopong Hong Kong Students Union (MHSU) has cautioned the general public of Mopong range to abstain from unnecessary gatherings and village to village visits without valid reasons to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 in and around the area. In a press release on Monday, MHSU President L Kholee called on the citizens to take personal responsibility towards preventing the pandemic and follow all preventive measures. He also appealed all those who are eligible to cooperate with health workers and get themselves vaccinated. 

Tseminyu citizens advised to avoid non-essential travel

Tseminyu, May 10 (MExN): Tseminyu SDO (C) Tsutsowe Kupa on Monday advised the general public of Tseminyu sub-division to avoid non-essential travel in the interest of public health and public safety. Given the quicker spread and the deadlier impact of the recent COVID surge, it is of paramount importance that the general public of the Sub-division take extra precaution, stay indoors as far as possible and follow appropriate behaviours and abide by directives/advisories, the SDo stated in a press release issued through the state DIPR.
