Nagaland: 181 new cases, 1,072 active cases now

DIMAPUR, APRIL 29 (MExN): 181 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Nagaland on April 29 out of 643 test results received on the day. 

This sent Nagaland’s caseload to 13,750. Meanwhile 29 more people have recovered from the infection, according to the State Health Department’s bulletin. The State now has 1,072 active COVID-19 cases.    

The new cases include 132 from Dimapur, 42 from Kohima, 3 from Mokokchung, and 1 each from Kiphire, Mon, Phek and Zunheboto. 98 of the new cases are traced contacts, 78 are returnees/travelers, 4 are frontline workers, and 1 is from the armed forces/security personnel. 

The bulletin meanwhile informed that of the State’s active cases, 973 are asymptomatic, 68 have mild symptoms; 12 have moderate symptoms requiring oxygen; 17 have severe symptoms requiring oxygen; and 2 are on ventilators. So far, 90 deaths have been confirmed as due to COVID-19 while 10 deaths are categorized as not COVID related and 1 death is under investigation.
