Nagaland: 92 new COVID cases at over 10% positivity

Nagaland reported 92 new COVID-19 cases on January 20 taking the state-wide total to 33,259. The sample positivity rate was high at 10.5 percent but lower than the previous day’s 12.1 percent. More than 3/4th of the day’s cases were detected through random/self tests. 

District-wise, Dimapur accounted for 67, Kohima- 18, Peren- 6 and Mokokchung- 1. The positivity rate in Peren was 18.7 percent, Kohima- 13 percent, Dimapur- 12.1 percent and Mokokchung- 1.7 percent. 

As per the daily COVID bulletin released by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, 13 COVID patients — 8 in Dimapur and 5 in Kohima — were “currently admitted” in hospital. The condition of two patients in Dimapur was described as “severe.”

Not a single death was reported today. 

Meanwhile, 29 recoveries were reported— 17 in Dimapur, 6 in Kohima, 2 each in Tuensang and Mokokchung and 1 each in Peren and Phek.
