Nagaland: ANCSU launches online campaign against conduct of exams

DIMAPUR, JULY 29 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) launched an online poster campaign against the guidelines issued by the UGC and the Ministry of Human Resource Development for conduct of university examinations by the end of September 2020.

Making an appeal to students and citizens to join the protest by sharing posters on social media networks, ANCSU President Vimeyiekho Vitso and General Secretary Imnameren N Jamir stated that the Union would continue its endeavor to “deliver justice and represent the voice of the students' community.”

It also pointed out that the UGC and the Ministry “seem to have forgotten the value of life, thereby imposing restrictions for the universities and colleges to conduct and complete exams by the end of September, 2020,” and demanded the immediate withdrawal of the July 6 guidelines of the UGC.

“Along with the All Nagaland Government College Teachers Association, the All Nagaland College Students' Union also record its participation in this movement for we care for the value of students' life, their families, their teachers and staffs over examinations,” it said.

ANCSU’s campaign comes after several organizations as well as state governments across the country challenged the guidelines, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Joint Forum for Movement on Education also called for an all India movement against the guidelines on July 29.
