Wokha/Longleng, December 16 (MExN): After its trainings in Tuensang mandals/assembly constituencies, the Nagaland Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted the booth-level training in Wokha district and Tamlu under Longleng district.
The training was held for Wokha 38 A/C at Town Hall, Wokha on December 14, while trainings for 39th Sanis A/C & 40th Bhandari A/C and 49th Tamlu A/C were held on December 15.
At the Wokha 38 A/C training, 330 booth-level workers from the constituency attended with Dr M Chuba Ao, former State BJP president, K James Vizo and Yanghose Sangtam, Convener and Co-convener respectively of BJP Media Cell as resource persons.
Chuba Ao highlighted the visions of BJP for 2018, stated a press release from BJP Nagaland Media Cell. He said that the party’s main priority will be accountability to the people of Nagaland and the “people will be the best to judge thereby.”
Vizo spoke on the history of BJP, organisational structure and its functions. He stated that BJP is a disciplined, cadre based, and purely political party. “Our priority is to serve the nation first, second the party then family,” he reminded the workers. “Our commitment is to nationalism, democracy, Gandhi-socialism, positive secularism and value based politics.”
Yanghose spoke on the various NDA schemes launched by BJP government at the Centre. He maintained that more than 6 crores houses have been constructed in the country for the poor people who do not have roofs under the Prime Minister housing schemes.
The training at 49th Tamlu A/C was attended by 350 booth-level workers. Speaking on the occasion, Chuba Ao stated the people of Tamlu were deprived of basic development for decades without proper road and other infrastructure such as schools and community utilities. Despite sending a representative, the expectations of the people were unfulfilled, he lamented, according to a press release from the party Media Cell. Chuba appealed to the party workers to work harder so that BJP could fulfil the wishes of the people by bringing changes in the near future.
Meanwhile, Yanghose stated Tamlu is situated closely to Assam and Mokokchung, “but unfortunately, the area remains incomparable as it has been unattended for decades in terms of development such as roads.”
Vizo on the other hand said the people of Nagaland are fed up of corruptions and want a change. “People want development,” he asserted, adding many political parties have managed the state affairs but they failed to deliver the goods to the people due to the defective system in their set up. “Their manifestos may be good but it failed to keep up with the aspiration of the people. Therefore, in the days to come BJP could be the best alternative party for the State if given a chance,” he added.
Longleng BJP vice president Bongveih Phom mentioned the workers were shy to identify themselves as BJP members in the past, but today’s huge gathering indicates their enthusiasm and pride to be members of the largest political party in India.
