Nagaland BJP on three years completion of PDA in office

Kohima, March 9 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state congratulated People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton for completing three years in office on March 8.

The journey has been challenging, but the PDA comprising of the legislators of the NDPP, the BJP and the lone Independent have been delivering the goods to the people. The PDA Government has not shied away from its responsibilities entrusted by the people through their precious mandate, stated Temjen Imna Along, President BJP Nagaland State.

Along stated that the last three years saw Nagaland and its people in challenging situations - such as the excessive rains that wreaked havoc in 2018 and the global COVID-19 pandemic which brought the world to its knees.

“Throughout these tumultuous times, the PDA government remained grounded and committed to its Common Minimum Programme; and focused on the emergencies at hand. Even today, the Government remains alert and responsive to the challenges ahead and we will not waver in our bounden duty to uphold the welfare of the people,” he stated.

The state BJP also extended its utmost appreciation to the rank and file of the NDPP led by its president Chingwang Konyak, the lone independent legislator Tongpang Ozukum, as well as the rank and file of the BJP Nagaland State Unit.

“During this moment of celebration, we sincerely appreciate the Opposition NPF led by the Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang who joined hands with the Government in reaching out to the people, cutting across party lines, when the pandemic was at its raging height. The grim pandemic situation also brought out the beauty of politics and democracy whereby everyone, irrespective of affiliations or ideologies, worked together for the common well-being of the people,” Along stated.

It also place on record its utmost appreciation to the Church, NGOs, CSOs, Tribal Hohos etc who have been working tirelessly in various capacities towards a final solution to the protracted Naga political issue.

“We appreciate all the Naga political groups which are engaged in the peace process with the Government of India under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a peaceful resolution that is inclusive and honourable to all sections of Naga society,” he stated.

On its part, the BJP Nagaland State Unit shall continue to work tirelessly in fulfilling the Government's and the Party's commitments to the people, he assured.

Along also made a clarion call to one and all to reap the benefits of the BJP led NDA Government's mantra _"Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas"_ (Together With All, Development For All, Trust of All) “so that Nagaland and its people can scale greater heights in all parameters of good governance and development of livelihood assets in the days ahead.”
