Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer convenes meeting

KOHIMA, March 11 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Kumar has convened a meeting with the under mentioned State Level NGO Core Group for Systematic Voters' Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) on March 17 at Hotel Japfu at 4 P.M. in connection with the Election Commission of India's recently declared National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP), 2016 program:

President, Naga Hoho 7. President, Nagaland Baptist Churches Council 8. President, Catholic Association of Nagaland 9. President, Nagaland Christian Revival Churches Council 10. President, Pentecostal Church 11. President, Naga Mothers' Association 12. President, Naga Students' Federation 13. President, Eastern Naga People Organization 14. President, Eastern Naga Students' Federation 15. President, Eastern Naga Women Organization 16. Yanpfuo Kikon, Founder, The Naga Blog 17. Hekani, Youth Net 18. President, Naga Peoples' Movement for Human Rights 19. President, Beauty & Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) 20. The President of all Tribal Hohos of Nagaland   According to a press release from the CEO, the NERP 2016 is an intensive drive which was launched on March 1 and is to be completed on or before August 31, 2016.   The meeting shall deliberate on issues pertaining to this drive with the main objective being, to improve the health of the Electoral Rolls (ER) and to rationalize the Polling Stations (PSs) boundaries and location, it informed.   NERP 2016 will also include enrolment of all eligible citizens and removal of repeated and multiple entries; entries of dead, shifted & absent voters, correction of errors in EPIC and removal of other data errors. During this drive, repeat images will also be corrected, missing photographs will be collected; poor quality of images will be replaced by good quality photographs, the release stated.   “All the members are therefore, requested to cooperate and attend the meeting positively, with highlights of any action taken, if any, since the last meeting and Action Plan for the current purification drive. Each group may be represented by 1 or up to 2 members,” the CEO stated.
