
Kohima, August 16 (MExN): Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio launched the Common Scholarship Portal on August 16 at the Secretariat Plaza during the Independence Day celebration. The portal will provide a centralized window for all State scholarships and the Department of IT& C is developing this Portal in a phased process.
According to a DIPR report, the first phase, which has been completed, consists of development of a common scholarship portal with services such as one-time registration, email verification, online submission of e-forms and generation of QR and Bar codes for verification. The second phase shall consist of services like duplicity checking, automated alerts to concerned departments and scholarship disbursement alerts to applicants.
The main objective of the creation of this portal is to develop and deploy portal for all beneficiaries of the State which will enable ease of maintenance and provide a Centralized Online Single Window for all State scholarships. Presently, five services have been developed and hosted;
Department of Higher Education: Post Metric Scholarship; Merit Scholarship; NEC Scholarship; State Research Scholarship
Department of School Education: Pre-Matric Scholarship (class 9-10)
The workflow of the above Scholarships has been incorporated in line with the present guidelines and forms issued by the concerned Departments/Ministries.
