Nagaland COVID-19: 6 fresh cases in Dimapur

Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): Nagaland’s COVID-19 caseload increased to 32,216 on Wednesday with the confirmation of six new cases in Dimapur district. The new cases were detected from 694 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, according to the state’s daily health bulletin.

As per the bulletin, four of the new cases were detected among returnees/travellers, and one each from traced contact and self test/random tests.

The death toll remained unchanged at 702, of which 686 were COVID-19 deaths and 16 were classified as ‘Non COVID deaths (with COVID-19 positivity).’ The state has not reported any COVID fatalities in the last 11 days.

Nagaland now has 64 active COVID-19 cases, while 30,377 people have recovered from the disease, including two on Wednesday. Dimapur district has the highest number of active cases at 62 while Kohima and Mokokchung districts have a single active case each. The rest of the districts have zero active cases at present.

In terms of severity, 64 active cases are said to be asymptomatic, 16 have mild symptoms, one has sever symptoms and is on oxygen support, and one is in the ICU (on ventilator), the bulletin stated.
