Nagaland COVID-19 caseload crosses 24K

State logs 76 fresh cases, 398 recoveries

Nagaland’s caseload of COVID-19 cases crossed the 24000 mark on Thursday with 76 new cases taking the tally to 24,041.

Earlier, on June 8, the State breached the 23000-mark, indicating an accumulation of over 1000 new cases in duration of 9 days.

The new cases were reported in 10 districts of the State including Kohima (29), Dimapur (14) Peren (11), Mokokchung (9), Tuensang (4), Phek (3), Kiphire (2), and one each in Zunheboto and Wokha.

Meanwhile, the State also continued its high recovery rate trend with 398 new recoveries on June 17. The cumulative recovery till date is 20,525, as per the bulletin issued by the State Health department.

There are 2368 active COVID-19 cases at present in the State, out of which 109 are admitted in COVID Hospitals while 2043 are under home isolation.

The State also reported 5 more deaths, with 3 new fatalities in Kohima and one each in Kiphire and Mokokchung respectively, taking the death toll to 452.
