Nagaland: COVID-19 cases cross 9000 mark

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): Nagaland’s COVID-19 caseload crossed the 9,000 mark today as 102 new cases were reported in the State on October 31. 

The Department of Health and Family Welfare informed that the State has now recorded 9,047 cases. Of the new cases, 84 are from Dimapur, 16 from Kohima and 2 from Mon. Among this, 56 are from the armed forces, 3 are returnees/travelers, 41 are traced contacts and 2 are frontline workers. 

Meanwhile, 146 recoveries were also reported on October 31. This includes 127 from Dimapur, 7 from Kohima, 9 from Mon and 3 from Kiphire. The total number of recoveries in Nagaland so far is 7,375 and the number of active cases is 1,552. 

The number of deaths in the State due to COVID-19 is now 33, with 2 deaths under investigation, the Health Department informed. Meanwhile, 79 cases have migrated. 

Among the active cases in Nagaland, 1,478 are asymptomatic, 49 have mild symptoms, 6 have moderate symptoms and are on oxygen, 9 have severe symptoms and are on oxygen, 7 are in ICU with oxygen, and 3 are in ICU and on ventilator. 

A total of 61,874 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 60,793 samples have been received. In addition, a total 33,612 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 33,556 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 3,922 samples have been tested.
