Nagaland’s COVID-19 topped 7000-mark on October 11 with the detection 70 new infections. 

There were 70 fresh cases on Sunday, State’s Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter, taking the total tally to 7019. The State’s tally on Saturday was 6949.

“70 +ve cases of #COVID-19 detected today.  Dimapur- 51, Kohima- 13, Peren- 2, Tuensang-Mon-Longleng-Mokokchung-1 each,” Pangnyu tweeted. 

He further informed that 49 patients – 33 in Dimapur, 15 in Kohima and 1 in Tuensang, have been recovered from the infection. 

With this, the State’s status on Sunday stood at: Total: 7019; Active-1253; Recovered: 5684.

As of October 10, the State has also registered 23 deaths of which 12 are COVID-19 related while five have been categorised ‘not COVID related’ in the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme’s (IDSP) daily bulletin. Six deaths are currently under investigation while 59 cases have ‘migrated’ from the state, it said.
