Nagaland: DC Longleng cautions on hunting of Amur falcons

Longleng, November 17 (MExN): In continuation of its earlier notification, the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Longleng on Tuesday issued a notice to all concerned that Amur falcon is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Trapping, killing and selling of Amur falcon is a criminal offence punishable with 3 years rigorous imprisonment or with fine of Rs 25000 or both under section 51 of the said Act, it added.

In this regard, the village council chairmen and ward presidents have been directed to take up the matter on top priority and give strict instructions within their concerned jurisdiction.
