Nagaland deprived of development: AICC Observer

Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): Recalling the state of Nagaland during the last five years under the DAN Government, Former MP and AICC Observer, Sanjay Nirupama, said that the whole country progressed except Nagaland. “Wherever Congress was in power, the youth developed, women developed…., but Nagaland was deprived of these development because Congress was not in power in Nagaland”, said Sanjay as he spoke at K.L. Chishi’s campaign program in NST colony. Referring to the Congress candidate of Dimapur-I, K.L. Chishi as a tall man, physically and politically, Sanjay said that Nagaland must bring Chishi to power inorder to attain these developments. Sanjay also conveyed a message from AICC President, Sonai Gandhi to the gathering, in an appeal to vote for Congress for the welfare of women, children senior citizens’ and others. The election observer at the same time, expressed optimism of a “Historic Victory” by a wide margin for the Congress party which was not just in the case of K.L. Chishi. “There is a wave going on all over Nagaland” Sanjay asserted adding that the Congress would form the next government with clear majority. 

Kick starting his campaign at NST Colony for Ward No 1 of Dimapur-I A/C, Congress candidate K. L. Chishi expressed wonder at the lack of development in the constituency. Saying that he had studied the constituency since 2006, with an aim to contest the election from Dimapur-I, Chishi lamented that there was no drainage, sanitation, medical facilities, employment schemes, welfare for women and senior citizens, roads, electricity and the many ails that infected the society.

If he were to be elected to power, Chisi said that he wishes to take up the matter of the railway timing, air connectivity, peace and security of the business community, employment of the educated unemployed, drop-outs and the unemployables. “I have a very lofty program for the Youth” he said adding he wanted to take the youth forward and make them a progressive youth. 

Meanwhile, T. Vero, chairman of the Chakhesang colony declared that Chakhesangs of the colony was solidly for the Congress candidate and Tiala, former president of Dimapur District NPF Women Wing, along with some colleagues who resigned from the Regional party, also spoke at the meeting. The meeting at NST colony was followed by another meeting for Ward No. 2 at Z.M. HSS at 6:00 PM.
