
Kohima, October 6 (MExN): The Directorate of Economics & Statistics (DE&S), Nagaland as the Nodal Agency for developing an efficient statistical system in the State has framed guidelines for compliance by all the statistical personnel attached/deputed in the line departments.
The DE&S, through the DIPR informed that the following guidelines have been formulated:
• Get involved in the survey conducted by the Line Departments and suggest measures to improve the methodology, quality, reliability and coverages, assist in tabulation and analysis of the data.
• Access all the Statistical data of the Line Departments for areas which can be quantified and generated as statistical data.
• Identify Statistical data, prepare survey format and suggest to the Department concerned for collection of data on such parameters.
• Verify and authenticate the data before sending to the Directorate.
• All statistical data generated by the Line Departments through survey/ Registration are to be send to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics for consolidating, estimations and updating state database.
• Statistical data should be submitted on weekly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly basis depending on the nature, duration and availability of data.
• Coordinate with the Directorate of Economics & Statistics for all such statistical activities in the Line Departments and deliberate issues pertaining to methodology, survey designs and standard norms.
• Examine/compare the data collected for the current year with that of the preceding year before forwarding to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics.
All the statistical officials have been directed to adhere to the guidelines, failing which necessary action will be initiated, it stated.
