Dimapur, June 4 (MExN): The tenure of inter-cadre deputation of Nagaland Director General Police (DGP) T John Longkumer, IPS has been extended till August 31, 2022, informed an official notification issued by the Department of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India on June 4.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs for extension of tenure of inter-cadre deputation of T John Longkumer, IPS from Chhattisgarh cadre to Nagaland cadre on administrative grounds for a period beyond June 26, 2021 to August 31, 2022, it added.
A 1991 batch Chhattisgarh Cadre Officer, Longkumer took charge as the new DGP of Nagaland on June 27, 2018 after the MHA approved his ‘inter-cadre’ deputation for a period of three years on “administrative grounds.” The three-year period was scheduled to end on June 26. According to MHA the period of inter-cadre deputation at “one time normally cannot exceed three years.”
