Nagaland full lockdown from May 14 to 21

Health Department directed to ‘pursue aggressive testing’

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): The High Powered Committee (HPC) on COVID-19 today announced a full lockdown in Nagaland from 6:00 pm on May 14 to May 21, 2021.

In a press statement issued by Neiba Kronu, Government Spokesperson on Covid and Mmhonlumo Kikon, Government Spokesperson on Covid, it stated that the HPC met on May 11 morning at the Chief Minister’s Residential Complex, Kohima where it deliberated and decided to declare a full lockdown in the whole state starting from 6pm on May 14 to May 21.

While stating that the existing restrictions will continue till the lockdown is in place, the HPC said that “essential services, including agricultural activities, will be exempted.” Furthermore, Government departments will continue to function with a core team formed by Heads of department.

The HPC decided to permit construction activities where contractors and firms will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all SOPs for the workers.

The Health & Family Welfare department have been directed, during the lockdown, to “pursue aggressive testing, utilizing the full testing capacity of the Covid-19 laboratories.

More SOPs will be issued, the HPC informed.
