DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 15 (MExN): The Department of Justice and Law, Nagaland today clarified on a recent statement from the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) on delay in completion of the High Court Complex.
A press note from the department informed that there is no departmental record of the NTC filing RTI application in respect of the High Court construction. It further informed that foundation stone of the complex was inaugurated by the then Chief Justice of India, KG Balakrishnan on May 21, 2007 “and not as reported.”
It stated that the total estimated cost of the project is Rs 161.10 Crores as per NPWD SOR’2010 and the department had received sanction amounting to Rs 57.61 Crore. With this amount, it claimed that the department has executed “various works such as road connectivity to the project, site leveling, contour mapping, boundary fencing and retaining wall etc and construction of the main court building is in progress.
It further informed that during the Plan Sectoral Outlay, the Planning and Coordination Department earmarked the fund under Negotiated Loan (HUDCO) and not as reported. The department meanwhile welcomed the office of the NTC to “come and examine the records,” and further urged against “making false allegation without verifying the facts and figures.”
