Kohima, July 31 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has extended festival greetings to the Ao and Chang communities.
In his message to the Aos on the occasion of Tsüngremmong festival, the Governor said that the festival marks the end of rigorous plantation besides nursing the paddy fields and called on the community to take time and thank Almighty for his unwavering love and blessing.
He also urged all to continue safeguarding and promoting the rich culture and traditions through the festivals and to come together and rededicate to make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and for all round development in the State.
The Governor in his greetings to the Chang community on the occasion of Naknyulüm festival meanwhile urged the people to resolve and eradicate evils in society and celebrate the festival with traditional peace, unity, and harmony. He noted that the festival symbolizes the conquest of light over darkness.
The Governor opined that the festivals should provide opportunities for budding generations and other villagers to display their skills and physical strength. He also encouraged both the tribes to safeguard and promote their rich culture and traditions through the festivals.
Acharya further wished that the festivals bring peace, unity, prosperity, and strengthen the moral foundations of the society.
