Amidst the shortage of manpower in the management of COVID-19 pandemic in the State, it was informed that the government of Manipur has retained four doctors from Nagaland who have passed out from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.

Informing this to media personnel during an interaction, Principal Director, H&FW, Dr Neikhrielie Khimiao said “the Government of Manipur is stopping them from coming back even though they have already completed their course and have received their certification.”

As the government of Manipur is not releasing them, Dr Khimiao said he has approached Nagaland government to immediately intervene by writing to the Manipur government for the release of the doctors who are much needed here.

Against the backdrop of shortage of trained personnel during this crisis, the addition of four doctors would make a difference.
