Zublee Foundation, in collaboration with NEDFi conducted grassroot-level workshops on deceased organ donation under Project VARDAAN (Chapter IV) in Kohima.

Kohima, February 15 (MExN: The Zublee Foundation, in collaboration with North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi), conducted Nagaland’s first-ever grassroot-level workshops on deceased organ donation under Project VARDAAN (Chapter IV) from February 13 to 15.
Held at the Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR), Kohima College, and Alder College, this initiative aims to transform perceptions and foster life-saving conversations around organ donation in the state, a press release received here stated.
Project VARDAAN, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by NEDFi, has been instrumental in spreading awareness across the Northeast region, empowering communities with vital information about deceased organ donation.
Speaking on the workshops, Priyanka Borah, CEO of Zublee Foundation, described the initiative as a “proud moment,” emphasising that the journey toward making organ donation a widely accepted practice begins with informed discussions at the grassroots level. She highlighted the overwhelming response from students and faculty at all three institutions.
The release stated that Professor Dr Soumya Chakraborty, Dean & Director of NIMSR, has taken a pioneering step by pledging her organs and tissues for donation. In addition, NIMSR has introduced student-led field activities to ensure continued awareness and engagement in the region, it added.
The team, including Diksha Kashyap (Project Coordinator – Office Head) and Dharitri Nath (Field Coordinator), is planning to conduct additional workshops in the coming weeks to further extend the impact of this vital initiative.
