DMI St Joseph Global School celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8 with various programmes to amplify the pivotal role of women in the world. Each department put forward interesting programs like speeches, poem recitation, singing and mimes to honour women in all spheres of life.

Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) in collaboration with The Green Team Mokokchung celebrated International Women's Day on March 8 under the theme 'Choose to Challenge' at Salangtem Community Hall. The Departments of Education and English, Modern College, Kohima,  organised a national seminar on March 8, to mark International Women's Day. The seminar focused on topics relating to women in Northeast in matters of decision making, women narratives, gender violence, women's role in contribution to society and economy and gender inequality in social and community structures. Self Help Groups (SHG) in Aliba Village celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 8, under the directives of the NRLM. The women folk shared success stories on how SHGs were helping them improve their lives and the programme was followed by a potluck where they cooked and  shared produce from their kitchen gardens.

Angami Catholic women of Cathedral Parish observed International Women’s Day at the church premises on March 8. Parish Priest Rev Fr Vemedo Joseph Kezo exhorted the gathering. The special highlight of the day was Holy Eucharist and prayer for all women. 

Assisi Centre for Integrated Development Cum National Domestic Workers Welfare Trust – Nagaland Region celebrated IWD at the Assisi Auditorium with Nagaland Catholic Women’s Association President Rita Kikon as chief guest. A brief program to commemorate Women's Day was held at the office premises of Educational Block Resource Centre, Ahthibung.  The main highlight of the celebration included prayers of blessing for women staff by Pastor, KBC Ahthibung, Thanghen Chongloi. The women staff honoured on the day included Neikholhing,ToT, and Puilambalie, ToT. 

The IWD celebration at GHS Maova witnessed an essay writing programme on prominent/inspirational woman of the district. A girl child was awarded for being the top scorer in the last academic examination and the female faculty members were given small tokens of appreciation to mark the occasion. International Women’s Day celebration in Pfutsero was jointly organised by the Chakhesang Women Welfare Society and Pfutsero Town Council under the support of the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner Pfutsero Sub-division. The speakers, on the occasion, underscored the need for the society to celebrate the contributions made by women to family, to society and to a larger global community as humans.

Namghar High School, Dimapur, observed the International Women’s Day on March 8 with various programmes and felicitation of women teachers and staff who were honoured with certificates for their continuous, dedicated and commendable services to the school.

A seminar on ‘Women’s Rights and Privileges’ was held to mark IWD in Longleng on March 8 under the aegis of the District Administration in collaboration with Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), MSK – District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) and Sakhi One Stop Centre Longleng. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon along with administration, KNSN and ATBC Women’s Department jointly conducted International Women’s Day 2021 at Aboi Town Baptist Church on March 8.

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng celebrated International Women’s Day with the theme ‘Women Leadership in Agriculture: Entrepreneurship, Equity and Empowerment’ on March 8 with activities like extempore speech competition and felicitation of six successful women farmers in the field of livestock and agriculture. All together 35 women farmers participated in the programme.

ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema in collaboration with KVK Phek celebrated International Women’s Day with a theme ‘Women Leadership in Agriculture: Entrepreneurship Equity and Empowerment’ at KVK Training Hall, Porba on March 8. The programme included an exhibition by the women SHGs of Porba and Pfutseromi village, a farmer-scientist interaction programme, and distribution of seeds to the participants. Prizes were also given to the best SHG stall.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kohima celebrated International Women’s Day at Kigwema village under the theme ‘Women Leadership in Agriculture.’  To mark the occasion a technical session on mushroom cultivation was also conducted where the resource persons elaborated on the production technology and nutritional benefits of mushrooms. Krishi Vigyan Kendra Peren under ICAR Research Complex for NER, Nagaland, Jalukie celebrated International Women’s day at Poilwa Community Hall on March 8. During the programme, two successful women farmers—LonoIkie from Deukwaram village and Saplule from Jalukie town were felicitated for their achievements in farming and enterprise through livestock and kitchen gardening. Extempore speech competition was conducted for the women farmers followed by Farmer Scientist interaction session. 

The NSRLM Longmatra Block organised International Women’s Day celebration at Longmatra Village under BMMU Longmatra on March 8. Held under the theme ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World,’ the celebration focused on providing equal opportunities and privileges for all.
