Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): Completing one year this month since inception, Nagaland Job Consultants (NJC), a YouthNet & SMARTER Nagaland initiative, today launched its second office at Dimapur. NJC is a job consulting firm with its head office in Kohima.

Lezo Putsure, YouthNet & SMARTER Nagaland official in a presentation stated that NJC was formally launched on April 1, 2012. Since its inception, more than one thousand have registered for over 100 jobs. “We receive a lot of calls from Dimapur seeking jobs, hence we thought of extension,” explained Lezo on launching the office here at Dimapur. He also presented a brief glimpse on the client growth rate, and employment areas of interest while adding that Nagaland Job Consultants is not only focused on providing jobs to the youths, but also collecting data for research to use for study. “More important than jobs is also data for us, so that we understand the scenario in the next, say five years which will help us to understand the problems of unemployment more,” he said.

Chief Guest for the launch, MLA Mmhonlumo Kikon threw a challenge to YouthNet & SMARTER Nagaland members to travel to interior regions of the State and bring jobs to the people there. This he said ‘would be a historic step that you would take’. He also encouraged in playing a role not only in Nagaland, but the Northeast and also Southeast Asia. He said that with no big industries in the State, the emergence of such a concept of a job consulting firm and running it successfully is appreciated.

Kikon also said the 2009 Global Unemployment Recession has had its impact on Nagaland in a small way, but nevertheless significant. He also said that comparing unemployment rates between states in India, Nagaland is far below. “We are not doing well”, he said adding that the Department of Evaluation Report, Nagaland has shown that we have very few people listed as ‘unemployed’.  Underscoring the importance of NJC in today’s Nagaland he said, “I’m pleased that Nagaland Job Consultants has come up with this initiative.” He also praised the name ‘SMARTER Nagaland’ saying it was smart coinage of the firm, saying it reflects exactly how we want others to look at Nagaland.

Nagaland Career and Development Center (NCDC) Training Consultant, Talichila Imchen also said that the launch was ‘a special day, a miraculous day - where a lot of things are going to happen’. The YouthNet Dimapur office is located opposite ICICI Bank, Dhobinala, Dimapur.
