Dignitaries with trainees of hands on barista training in Kohima.

Kohima, February 19 (MExN): The Department of Land Resources in collaboration with Coffee Board of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry organised a hands on barista training from February 11 to 15 at the Directorate of LRD, Kohima.
Altogether, 15 barista enthusiasts from various districts of the state were given a hands on practice of barista skills for a perfect cup by Yathish Gowda, Barista Trainer, Coffee Quality Division, Coffee Board of India.
The trainees were introduced to the coffee world equipping them and mastering with the basic skills and knowledge for the brewing journey, during the five days extensive training.
Briefing about the training, Nagaland’s Land Resources director Albert Ngullie said the department initiated to promote coffee across the state since 2015 with different approach and is completing 10 years, starting from plantations, area expansion, processing units, installation of washing stations, roasting machines and opening of cafes and coffee outlets across the state. Ngullie informed that the Department has 11 coffee bars in the 11 districts offices which will help promote coffee culture in the state.
The training aimed to impart basic barista skills to the local barista enthusiasts and entrepreneurs which will enhance their skills to brew the perfect cup while promote coffee culture across the state, generating employment and economic scope business.
