Nagaland Lok Sabha MP brings up Naga issue in parliament

New Delhi, July 25 (MExN): Tokheho Yepthomi Member of Parliament (MP) Lok Sabha from Nagaland State raised the “upcoming” Naga Political Solution issue in the Parliament on July 24.

According to a press release from Kuolie Mere, Nagaland House PRO (IPR), New Delhi, the MP said that, the Government of India is aware that the Indo-Naga negotiations have been going on for the last 21 years.

He pointed out, as per the press release, that successive governments have been in the central government when the NDA was in power between 1999 and 2003; then the UPA was in power between 2004 and 2014, and yet the negotiations have been going on for 21 years without solution to the important issue.

“If it takes longer, there will be law and order problem in Nagaland State in particular and in the Northeast states in general,” stated Yepthomi in the Lok Sabha floor.

He urged the House to “expedite and resolve the issue at the earliest possible.”
